A diplomatic and experienced person is required to develop the role whilst managing a team of experienced funeral operatives.
Duties and responsibilities
Smooth running of the Operations team and co-ordination of resources to ensure key areas are met:
General funeral duties
Co-ordination of removals
Enthusiastically lead and encourage team members to work to the best of their ability
Ability to recognise individual’s strengths and weaknesses
Implement personal development programmes via internal and external training
Welfare of team:
Improve communication within the team with regular 1-2-1s
Control and monitoring of annual leave and sick leave
Authorisation of overtime
Implement risk assessments
Involvement in recruitment and induction of new employees
Conducting annual appraisals
The Operations Manager will report directly to the Directors.
Demonstrate the highest standards in their personal presentation, motivation and attention to detail.
Firm but fair approach to personal management is required.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience within the funeral industry is essential.
Hours: 8.30am to 5.30pm with 30 minutes break as available.
Annual Leave: 20 days per annum increasing after 5 and 10 years service
Uniform: A uniform suit and protective equipment is provided
