Funeral Arranger role

AB Walker is a long-established, family-owned and run funeral director committed to providing compassionate and professional services to families during their time of need. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Funeral Arranger. If you possess excellent communication skills, compassion, and a desire to assist others during difficult times, this role may be perfect for you.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist families in making funeral arrangements, offering support from the initial call through to the completion of arrangements
  • Coordinate with various third parties including hospitals, nursing homes, crematoria, churches, cemeteries, ministers, and celebrants to ensure all aspects of the funeral process are handled professionally and sensitively
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings and communicate effectively over the phone to guide families through decision-making processes
  • Prepare the Chapel of Rest for visitations by loved ones, ensuring it is presented in a dignified and respectful manner
  • Foster positive relationships within the local community, representing AB Walker with professionalism and empathy
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment while taking personal responsibility for assigned tasks.

About you

  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Well-organised and capable of working to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team dedicated to excellence and community support
  • Full, clean driving license required
  • Ideally vaccinated against Covid-19.

Salary and benefits

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. This is a full-time, office based role.

Salary: From £25,000 plus benefits
