In fond memory of Dorothy & her dedication to raising issues for the Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing community in the area. From all her friends at BADHOGS As her hearing loss got progressively worse over the years Dorothy decided late in 2007 to do something about it. She got in touch, initially, with the Reading branch of the Royal National Institute for Deaf which is now called Action for Deaf People but as there was no organisation locally for Hard-of-Hearing People then she decided it was time to do something about it. Our first meeting was on January 7th 2009 in the Tea-rooms in the centre of Bracknell twice a month while a committee was formed with Dorothy as its Chair-person along with a Treasurer, Secretary and a Social member. A Constitution and Articles of Association were written and we branded ourselves as Bracknell Area Deaf & Hard-Of-hearing Support Group (BADHOGS) for our first year of operation was 2008.
