I am so deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Mel's passing. On our Christian Aid internship, she was supportive, compassionate, creative, humble about her achievements and talents, and always made time for others. From our times at greenbelt, and in Brazil, her quirky sense of humour, wisdom, passion for social justice and thought for others were just some of the things that made her such a wonderful friend whom I learnt a lot from. Her memory will be cherished.

Mel joined our organisation in October last year and quickly made an impact as a thoughtful, bright and encouraging colleague. We are deeply saddened by her death. I'm so shocked and sad to hear this terrible news. Mel was such a deep-thinking, empathetic, clever woman. She did wonderful work for Christian Aid in her time with us, and I will never forget the sensitive, creative way she approached the projects that we saw together in Brazil. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of meeting her and learning from her.

So very sad to here of Melanie's passing. Very fond memories of her playing rugby for Bicester in the mini age groups, frightened a few of the boys with her tackling & definitely missed when she had to move on when they finished U12's. All the Horwoods are thinking of you at this time.
