NAFD is one of the main trade bodies that assess whether funeral directors consistently achieve a high standard of service. A regular inspection regime of premises and the back of house ensures our standards are maintained.
Another main trade body, SAIF supports independent, mostly family-owned funeral directors. As with NAFD, SAIF inspects premises to ensure compliance to their industry-leading Code of Practice.
The Armed Forces Covenant ensures that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. We are very proud of our relationship with the Armed Forces Covenant, especially as Executive Director Julian is a veteran himself. Selected Independent Funeral Homes is a network of family-owned businesses throughout the world that allows members to discuss ideas and develop best practices collectively. Membership is by invitation only, so standards must be high in order to join.
The AGFD help members of the public find funeral homes in their area that provide more sustainable and eco-friendly options and encourage funeral directors to become more green-minded in all aspects of their work and help bring natural funerals into the mainstream.
