Funeral Arranger role

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a full-time Funeral Arranger. If you are an empathetic, compassionate individual with great communication skills, and have a desire to help others during a difficult time, this role could be for you!

Key responsibilities

As an independent, family-owned and run funeral director, AB Walker is committed to providing compassionate and professional services to families during their time of need. This role is central to that, and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting families in making funeral arrangements, offering support from the initial call through to the completion of arrangements
  • Coordinating third parties to ensure all aspects of the funeral process are handled professionally and sensitively
  • Preparing the Chapel of Rest for visits by loved ones, ensuring it is presented in a dignified and respectful manner
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment while taking personal responsibility for assigned tasks.

  • Willingness to take personal ownership of tasks and be comfortable thinking on your feet
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Well-organised and capable of working to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Full, clean driving license required

Previous job experience within the funeral sector is preferred but is not essential. Full training will be given

Working hours

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

This is a full-time, on-site role.

Salary and benefits

Salary: Starting from £25,500 depending on experience.
