Personal grief counselling with Lyndsey Holmes

Grief affects everyone differently. Sometimes the support of family and friends is enough, while at other times it can help to talk privately with someone outside your immediate circle.

AB Walker has partnered with Lyndsey Holmes, a local BACP registered counsellor with almost 10 years’ counselling experience, to offer professional one-to-one grief and bereavement counselling.

You do not need to have arranged a funeral with AB Walker to access this service. One-to-one counselling is available to anyone who feels they may benefit from additional support following a bereavement.

Lyndsey offers a free 15-minute phone consultation for all new clients at a time that suits you before you book.

One-to-one grief counselling in Berkshire and South Oxfordshire

Lyndsey’s counselling provides a private and confidential space where you can talk openly about your bereavement and how it is affecting you.

There is no right time to ask for help. Your bereavement may be recent, or the person may have died many months or years ago.

One-to-one grief counselling may be helpful if you:

  • would like a confidential space to talk about the person who has died
  • are finding aspects of grief difficult to manage
  • feel isolated or unable to talk openly with those around you
  • are experiencing changes in relationships, routines or your sense of identity following a death
  • experienced a bereavement some time ago but would now like support
  • feel you would benefit from talking privately with a professional counsellor

About Lyndsey

My name is Lyndsey, and a BACP registered member and I have
been counselling for almost 10 years. I work across many areas of counselling, including bereavement. I know that grief can feel overwhelming, lonely and deeply personal. I offer a warm, gentle and confidential space where you can talk openly about your loss without feeling judged or rushed.

I centre my work on listening with care and meeting you where you are. Everyone experiences grief differently, and I believe there is no fixed path or timetable for healing. Together, we can gently explore your feelings, memories and the changes you are facing, at a pace that feels right for you.

My hope is to help you find your own way through grief. Whether your loss is recent or from some time ago, you are welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation about how counselling may support you.

How much does grief counselling cost?

Lyndsey offers a free 15-minute phone consultation for all new clients at a time that suits you. Following this, you would engage in a more in depth assessment. before booking a session.

Initially, Lyndsey will go through an assessment with you. It is not as difficult as it may sound. It is simply a way for her to understand the areas you would like to address, your reasons for starting counselling, and the help and support you are looking for.

The assessment also provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have, discuss what you need from Lyndsey, and understand how she can support you throughout the counselling process.

There is no requirement to have used AB Walker to arrange a funeral. This service is open to anyone who would like to explore whether individual grief counselling could support them.

When should I consider grief counselling?

There is no set time to seek counselling following a death. Some people would like support relatively soon after a bereavement, while others decide to speak to a counsellor months or years later.
