Compassion in Every Step – Bereavement Support from AB Walker

Advice

Grief affects everyone differently. There is no right or wrong way to cope with the loss of someone close. While time brings some healing, the right support can make a world of difference.

At AB Walker Funeral Directors, we understand that our role extends far beyond arranging a funeral. As an independent, family-run funeral director serving Berkshire and South Oxfordshire, we are here to care for families before, during, and long after the funeral has taken place.

We know that the weeks and months that follow can be among the most difficult. That is why we offer a range of bereavement support services. We provide comfort, guidance, and connection when it is needed most.

Ongoing Care from a Local, Independent Funeral Director

For generations, AB Walker has supported local families through moments of profound loss. We believe that everyone should have access to compassionate, professional support, not only at the time of the funeral but throughout the grieving process.

Our aftercare services are available to anyone who has experienced loss, whether or not the funeral was arranged with us. It is part of our commitment to the communities of Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Woodley, Tilehurst, Caversham, Thatcham, and Henley. Our Bereavement Team is led by Beverley Dimes & Emily Williams.

The Link Bereavement Course – Finding Strength Through Shared Experience

One of our most valued programmes is The Link Bereavement Course. It is a supportive six-week group designed to help individuals explore their grief in a safe and understanding space.  This amazing course is run by Beverley & Emily.

Experienced facilitators guide each session and gently lead conversations around loss, memory, coping strategies, and personal growth. Many participants find it comforting to meet others who share similar experiences and feelings, discovering that they are not alone in their journey.

The Link Course takes place regularly throughout the year, and anyone who has been bereaved, recently or some time ago, is welcome to join. It provides a balance of listening, sharing, and practical advice, helping participants to find hope and strength through community.

Loss and Bereavement Resources – Guidance You Can Trust Online

In addition to in-person support, AB Walker offers a comprehensive collection of loss and bereavement support resources on our website.

These carefully curated guides include advice on coping with different types of loss, helping children understand grief, and managing special days and anniversaries. We write each article with empathy and clarity, offering gentle insight for those navigating grief privately or alongside family and friends.
